We are excited to bring a new kendo dojo to Calgary! Whether you are a beginner or an experienced kendo practitioner, our dojo offers a welcoming environment for all skill levels. Tesshin Calgary is the 2nd dojo to open within the Tesshin family.
Our instructor is a Renshi 7th Dan (錬士七段) and has served as the general manager of the Canadian national team. Beginners Are Welcome!
No prior experience? No problem!
Our dojo welcomes beginners and provides guidance to help you build confidence and skills.
No Equipment? No Problem!
We have shared shinai in various sizes for trials and beginners, so you can get started right away!
We were able to purchase shared shinai thanks to the generous support of the Calgary Japanese Community Association (CJCA) through the Calgary Nikkei Cultural Fund (CNCF). We are truly grateful for their support, which makes it possible for beginners to start kendo with ease!
Come train with us and be part of our growing kendo family!
Canadian Kendo Federation (CKF)
We are registered with the Canadian Kendo Federation (CKF). This means our dojo is authorized to offer recognized training and certification opportunities under the CKF.
